EHS & Training Supervisor

Location: New Albany, OH

As the EHS & Training Supervisor, you will oversee the safety and training of the non-exempt operations team for the New Albany Distribution Center.  We are looking for a leader who can:

  • Identify and recommend process improvements and changes
  • Provide recommendations on non-exempt talent decisions
  • Make sound decisions related to safety and training that support our values and culture

Additionally, this person will be responsible for:

  • Combining efforts to effectively manage all components of non-exempt safety and training supporting the New Albany, Ohio L Brands Facility
  • Driving the safety culture through associate engagement, connecting with leaders and evaluating process improvements with regards to safety procedures and processes
  • Forecasting, hind-sighting and executing on core training functions related to non-exempt training

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally to identify, develop, deliver and update training & safety programs in support of business needs and safety/training initiatives
  • Oversee the recruitment process and the development of non-exempt trainers
  • Strategize and support activities related to the coordination of new hire training
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed and maintained throughout training process
  • Promotes and takes an active approach in generating safety awareness to improve safety processes, systems and methods
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections within the DC operations.
  • Coordinate and assist leaders in all incident/accident investigations, hazard correction, and OSHA documentation
  • Facilitate weekly safety review (WSR) and record documentation
  • Partner with leadership and case managers on Worker’s Comp cases
  • Update Job Safety Ergonomic Analysis for roles within DC’s
  • Partner with DC operations leadership team to assist non-exempt associates in sustaining a strong safety & training culture
  • Provide positive coaching and feedback to non-exempt associates with on the spot recognition


  • Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with safety & training within a light industrial or logistics environment is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication/organizational skills
  • Flexible and innovative with the ability to manage responsibilities in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the business including HR, contingent partners and operations leaders
  • Good decision making, time management, planning and problem solving skills
  • Ability to influence and give feedback to ensure optimal training outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe)
